Dentro de las diferentes técnicas de fundición de metales de precisión existen varias divisiones, una de ellas es Investment Casting o fundición a la cera perdida, lo cual permite fundir piezas complejas con un mejor acabado superficial, mayor precisión dimensional.

We designed a mold to contain the wax and inject it at high pressure, achieving a faithful copy of the model.

It begins by injecting wax in a pasty state into a permanent mold which will acquire the desired shape when solidified; These pieces are glued to a wax tree.

Once the cavity is free of wax, it is called a "shell" which, before pouring the liquid metal, is preheated to a temperature of 700 to 1100°C in a gas furnace and once it reaches the desired temperature, the molten alloy is poured.

When the metal solidifies, the ceramic is removed by breaking it, obtaining the metal form of the wax model.

This consists of developing the mold with the contractions derived from the type of material to be cast.

Chemical analysis
At IDS we have an emission spectrometer for chemical analysis of metals, with this we can guarantee our clients stability in terms of composition and therefore in the properties of alloys and super alloys developed in our plant, all of these under ASTM standards (American Society for Testing and Materials).
We have standardized patterns to have our equipment calibrated, thus providing the greatest possible reliability in the analyses performed.

Optical microscope
Estudiamos y analizamos las micro-estructuras de los metales o las aleaciones que fundimos, con un microscópico óptico que puede determinar las características físicas, químicas y mecánicas, asegurando las especificaciones requeridas.
¿Cómo lo hacemos?
Mediante una muestra de la colada, dejando una superficie lisa, sin que el corte modifique la micro-estructura de la muestra, es decir se pule la muestra y posterior a ello la muestra se limpia con abrasivos y resinas hasta dejar la muestra con acabado tipo espejo, posteriormente se ataca con diferentes químicos para revelar tanto la micro estructura como las fases y precipitados presentes en la muestra.
Ventajas
Poder asegurar la estructura de la aleación para la aplicación final, después de fundición, por ejemplo en el hierro nodular podemos cuantificar los nódulos que hay en una pulgada cuadrada.
